Gilles Pillet is a Full Professor of Law at ESCP Business School, in the Department of Law, Economics and Humanities. 

His teaching and research focuse on international business contracts and their intersection with corporate law and governance, with a particular emphasis on mergers and acquisitions and a comparative approach. He oversees the division of the International Business Law Journal dedicated to innovative contractual practices. 

Before joining ESCP Business School, Gilles was an Assistant Professor at the University of Paris XII, where he taught the law of credit, contract Law, the general regime of obligations, Securities Law, and the impact of Human Rights on private Law. He also lectured on Lontract Law at the Sciences Po Paris School of Law. Gilles is a former legal practitioner (admitted to the Paris Bar) and collaborated for more than ten years with lawyers entitled to appear before the Court of Cassation.   For 17 years, he served as a legal consultant to the National Bar Council, contributing to initiatives on topics such as third-party funding, class actions, the restatement of French Contract Law, and the evolution of the legal services market.

He holds a Doctorate in Private Law and a post-doctoral qualification for the supervision of research in law, both from Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University.
