Irina von Wiese is an Affiliate Professor in law and politics at the ESCP’s London campus, as well as a trustee of the Institute for Corporate Governance. She is a dual qualified German and UK lawyer and practiced EU competition and trade law in major UK law firms, in the tech industry and in Government.
In 2019, she was elected to the European Parliament in 2019, representing Liberal Democrats (London constituency). During her mandate, she served as Vice-Chair of the Human Rights subcommittee, member of the Foreign Affairs, Home Affairs and Petitions committees as well as the cross-party Working Group on Responsible Business Conduct.
After the UK’s withdrawal from the European Union, Irina was elected to the City Council of the London Borough of Southwark and chairs a number of international organisations including the European Centre for Populism Studies. (…)
