Valérie Moatti is a full Professor in the IOM (Information and Operations Management) departement at ESCP Business School Paris Campus. She was the Faculty Dean between 2017 and 2023. She set up and managed several academic partnerships with companies including a Chair on «Fashion & Technology» with Lectra and a Supply Chain Observatory with BearingPoint and Supply Chain Magazine. She is also a certified Non-Executive Board Member (INSEAD IDP) and has been holding several non-executive positions for more than a decade.
Her teaching areas are Supply Chain Management and Strategic Management with specific focus on Sustainability and the fashion and luxury industries. After graduating from ESCP Business School with a Master in Management, she held various executive positions with Procter & Gamble and with PPR (now Kering) over a period of 8 years. After a PhD in management science at HEC (December 2005), she became Assistant Professor at ESCP Business School where she developed Supply Chain Management courses. Her PhD dissertation dealt with growth strategies and more specifically the choice of expansion mode (internal growth, mergers and acquisitions and alliances). Her research covers growth strategies, the interface between strategy and supply chain management, sustainable supply chain management, manufacturing location and innovation strategies.
She is the author of articles published in academic journals (Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Business Ethics, Creativity and Innovation Management, European Management Journal, International Journal of Logistics: Research and Applications, and Management, Business Strategy and the Environment,...) and non-academic outlets (Les Echos, The Conversation, Expansion Management Review,...).
