Claire Dambrin is a Professor of Management Control at ESCP. Her qualitative and critical research is rooted in the social studies of accounting and control. She explores the design, uses, and effects of performance measurement tools, including accounting information systems, individual assessment methods, and incentive and compensation systems. Her work also examines how these tools are gendered and how feminist perspectives reveal both their subjugating and emancipating potential.
Her research has been published in leading international academic journals in accounting, control, and management. She earned her PhD from Paris Dauphine University in 2005 and was a professor of accounting at HEC Paris from 2004 to 2012.
Claire serves on the editorial boards of Accounting, Organizations and Society, Management Accounting Research, and Critical Perspectives on Accounting. She is also co-editor-in-chief of Comptabilité Contrôle Audit / Accounting Auditing Control.
