His work is also informed by his experience working and living in five countries for Spanish, French, British and US and international organizations.
Justin Byrne is a specialist in the construction industry, with a dozen publications on different aspects of the history and development of the sector in Spain. His research has focused on industrial organization, labour relations and employment practice, including issues of ethnic and gender diversity and the transnational posting of workers within the EU. In 2006 he appeared as a Country Expert on this topic before the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs of the European Parliament.
His current research focuses, on the one hand, on assessment and training in the field of cultural intelligence (CQ), particularly with respect to management students and young professionals. On the other hand, he is currently researching the way in which companies and organizations can, and sometimes do, make strategic use of their history in constructing their culture and identity and defining and executing management decisions. This inspries a nascent consultancy pratice in the field.
