30 Oct 2020 | Berlin Senate mandate moves classes online as of Monday 2nd November 2020

Due to the current Covid-19 situation, on 30th October the Berlin Senate officially stated that classes have to take place online as of Monday 2nd November 2020.

Regulations by local authorities might change, and there may be some exceptions to this general rule. ESCP will keep students informed about any further details or evolutions the Berlin Senate might announce.

It is, however, possible to keep the library open. Since space is limited, we will additionally provide further rooms as ‘extended library’, should there be a need. When going to campus, please be 100% sure that you have observed all the applicable hygiene rules. Under no circumstances should you come to campus if you do not feel well. This situation requires the greatest possible solidarity. The welfare of fellow students and ESCP staff is a top priority.

Also on Monday 2nd November, new restrictions on public life will go into effect throughout Germany for four week. Find all the updated government regulations here; however, see below for the most relevant measures.

  • Theatres, cinemas, clubs, bars, sports clubs, swimming pools, fitness and cosmetic studios as well as restaurants and cafés will close (take-away and delivery is allowed).
  • Meetings outside your home are only permitted with your household and one other household (max. 10 people together).
  • Avoid private visitations and travel.
  • Pre-schools, schools, shops and hairdressers shall remain open.

Persons arriving from countries deemed risk areas are still required to self-isolate for 14 days. Find more information here

7 August 2020 | Reopening of the ESCP Berlin campus to students

Starting Monday, 31 August 2020, the ESCP Berlin Campus will officially be reopening to students, in accordance with the SARS-CoV-2 Infection Protection Ordinance rules mandated by the Berlin Senate and recommendations from the Robert Koch Institute.

What does this mean for students?

  • Campus will reopen, however, we ask that students not show up unrequested until their respective Induction days
  • Lectures and courses will resume on campus in compliance with the SARS-CoV-2 Infection Protection Ordinance. An online concept will be available for those who are not able to come to the campus
  • Basic precautions and rules must be adhered to, such as:
    • Keeping a minimum distance of 1,5m from others and avoiding direct physical contact whenever possible
    • Wearing a mouth and nose covering when entering the campus building as it is now obligatory to wear a mask at the Berlin campus
    • Regular hand-washing/sanitation and ventilation of classrooms
    • Refraining from coming to campus with symptoms before ruling out a COVID infection

Please also keep in mind that if you have been in a designated risk area (in German, English version at the bottom) in the two weeks prior to your arrival to Berlin, you are obligated to immediately enter quarantine for 14 days upon entering Germany. Stay up to date with information from the German Federal government in various languages here.

We are monitoring further developments in the public health situation in Berlin/Germany/the European Union, and will keep students informed about any changes.

24 June 2020 | Relevant COVID-19 and public health updates for incoming students starting on Berlin Campus in autumn 2020

ESCP Berlin Campus is monitoring the latest public health developments, advice, and recommendations regarding COVID-19 in Germany. At the moment, we would like to reassure students that the ESCP Berlin team is striving to provide the best experience for the upcoming term starting in September 2020 while taking into account the health and safety of the ESCP community. We have taken the current situation to rethink and to develop further our teaching practices, and to come up with a set of pedagogical innovations to guarantee the highest quality for every likely study scenario this autumn.

Due to the public health situation in Germany, all classes and programmes are currently being held online. In autumn we will most likely pursue a hybrid approach with classes taking place on campus as well as online, adapted to the respective courses and programme objectives. ESCP Berlin Campus will also provide spaces on campus to be used for networking and socialising in compliance with the hygienic and safety regulations of the Berlin Senate. We are committed to acting swiftly to any developments, and keeping the community updated on how studies will be organised in the upcoming semesters.
