Hailing from Akranes<\/strong>, a small fishing town<\/strong> in Iceland with just 8,000 residents, Andri Freyr Eggertsson<\/strong> had always been curious about the world beyond his hometown. Inspired by his parents, both business leaders<\/strong>, Andri developed an early interest in management<\/strong>. He explains, \u201dThey didn’t pressure me, but seeing them as CEOs sparked my curiosity about the field.\u201d<\/em> A recommendation from a family friend introduced him to the Bachelor in Management (BSc)<\/a><\/strong> at ESCP Business School<\/strong>, and the unique concept of studying across three countries<\/strong> sealed the deal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite initial fears of living abroad<\/strong> for the first time, Andri embraced the challenge. \u201dI had all kinds of anxieties\u201dabout finding housing, making friends, and adjusting to university life\u201d<\/em> he recalls. Yet, his determination to explore new cultures<\/strong> and opportunities outweighed the uncertainties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Life as an ESCP Management student: From Paris to Turin to Berlin<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Andri’s experience in the Bachelor in Management (BSc)<\/strong> was a whirlwind of discovery, learning<\/strong>, and growth. Reflecting on his favourite moments, he says, \u201dEach campus had its charm. Turin stood out for its beauty and familiar size\u201dI could get around the whole city in 20 minutes.\u201d<\/em> While Paris<\/strong> impressed with its structured courses<\/strong>, Berlin<\/strong> struck a balance between organisation and independence. Andri particularly enjoyed courses on digital transformation<\/strong>, especially the digital government elective<\/strong> in Berlin, which aligned with his growing interest in technology and data<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Navigating the language barriers<\/strong> was one of the more challenging aspects of Andri’s journey, particularly in France<\/strong>. However, the multicultural environment and opportunities to learn Italian<\/strong> and German<\/strong> enriched his experience. \u201dIt’s not just about speaking another language; it helps you see the world differently\u201d<\/em> he notes. The friendships<\/strong> he forged and the cultural insights<\/strong> he gained during his time in the programme shaped him into a more confident<\/strong> and open-minded individual<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
