Embarking on a Global Academic Venture: Choosing the BSc

For Gennaro, pursuing higher education abroad was not just a choice, but a bold step towards expanding his horizons and embracing new opportunities”a desire he has harboured for years.

« ESCP Business School allowed me to travel and explore new cities, new countries, new vibes, which made all the difference when it was about making my choice, » he reminisces, highlighting the allure of ESCP’s global network and culturally rich student community.

With a hunger for knowledge and a thirst for cultural immersion, Gennaro found his calling in ESCP’s Bachelor in Management (BSc) programme, recognising it as a gateway to a world of opportunities. « I believe it provides a complete overview of all the business issues, challenges, and diverse situations that managers may encounter daily and in the future, » he affirms, underscoring the programme’s relevance in preparing him for the complexities of the global business landscape.

Advocating for Ethical Business: A New Standard in Finance

Gennaro’s passion for ethical and sustainable business is certainly long-standing and well-rooted among his interests. However, he certainly credits ESCP’s commitment to these values for boosting his enthusiasm even more. 

« ESCP really made a statement about itself to its dedication to nurture and advocate for ethical conduct across all facets of the corporate and entrepreneurial spheres, » he remarks, reflecting on the profound impact of the BSc programme on his worldview. 

Gennaro’s involvement in a sustainability-focused elective course further solidified his commitment to ethical finance”a field he continues to explore in his postgraduate studies at the Imperial College London, where he is pursuing his Master’s in Climate Change, Management and Finance.

« Businesses have a responsibility to drive positive change, » he asserts, echoing ESCP’s ethos of responsible leadership and societal impact.

Hands-On Education: A Boost for Career Development

Sharing life encounters and knowledge with classmates representing 44 diverse nationalities, Gennaro traversed the bustling metropolises of Turin, Paris, and London, experiencing a journey punctuated by transformative moments and substantial professional development.

Moreover, Gennaro actively participated in extracurricular activities, including involvement in the 180 Degrees Consulting ESCP student Society. Through these engagements, he gained hands-on experience applying theoretical knowledge from the classroom to real-world challenges.« Leading a team to support a Spanish NGO’s market penetration in the UK was a defining moment for me, » he recalls, emphasising the invaluable skills and insights gained through practical learning experiences. 

In addition, Gennaro secured pivotal internship roles that significantly enhanced his ability to navigate varied work environments adeptly. As a Sales and Marketing Intern at Manifattura Automobili Torino, he gained firsthand insights into the automotive industry, refining his understanding of sales and marketing strategies. Similarly, his internship at S&P Global equipped him with essential data and technology expertise, demonstrating the transformative power of informed decision-making in business operations. 

Looking Ahead: A Vision for the Future

As Gennaro sets his sights on the future, his vision is bold and resolute. With aspirations to become a leader in ethical finance, he remains committed to making a meaningful impact on the world

« My network is my net worth, » he declares, emphasizing the importance of connections and collaboration in achieving goals. Whether it is working in a leading firm or establishing his own ethical investment company, Gennaro’s entrepreneurial spirit and global mindset are poised to shape the future of finance.

Reflecting on his journey, he offers sage advice to prospective students, urging them to embrace opportunities and overcome fears of uncertainty. « Take risks now that you’re young. Even if you make mistakes, it’s not the end of the world, » he recommends. « There’s no better time than ”˜now’ to discover who you can be and who you want to become. »
